RESOLUTION
IN RESPONSE TO 74th GENERAL CONVENTION St. Paul's Church by-the-Lake, Chicago, Illinois has since the 1970's failed to be convinced and/or embrace the growing misconception that the General Convention of the Episcopal Church, USA is legally competent to change the substance and nature of the Faith that this part of the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church has received from nearly two millennia of Christian Witness. This parish will continue to resist such changes that contraindicate the clear and received teaching of Holy Scripture, Holy Tradition and the reasoning of the Ecumenical Councils of the Church. We wish in no way to separate ourselves from the Episcopal Church, and are not. Rather we pledge to remain a witness to the truth of the Catholic and Evangelical Faith. We disassociate ourselves from all changes to the Moral or Sacramental theology of that Faith. As we acknowledge the right of those who wish to experiment, we hope our position will be respected.
