Parking
at St. Paul's Church-by-the-Lake
As with many churches in the neighborhoods of urban Chicago, parking
can sometimes be difficult. Don't become discouraged if you have
a hard time finding a place to park--we all have difficulties with
parking from time to time. If you live in the neighborhood, you
may find it considerably more convenient to walk to the church.
An alternative, is to ride the CTA's Red Line elevated trains to
the neighborhood, disembarking at the Morse station. (see CTA
directions above)
If you do choose to drive to St. Paul's, allow plenty of time to
find a parking space. We do have a parking lot behind the church
accessible through the alley just north of the parish hall, but
it fills up quickly and one is just about guaranteed to be blocked
in and prevented from leaving until everyone else has left. Parking
is available on the streets of the neighborhood; be careful to avoid
fire hydrants and handicapped restrictions. Please do not park in
alleyways or in places where parking is restricted--parking can
be a hot issue in the city, and we want to be a gracious witness
to the love of God, not a graceless witness to our own sinfulness.
So please use discretion in where you park, if you drive at all.
